It's very rare we've provided tastings. To be honest, our many reviews and food pics (check us out on Instagram) speak for themselves. And often clients come to us because they have experienced our food at other weddings/events.
We also think that our food is best enjoyed for the first time on your special day, with your family and friends, and with all the theatre that everything you've planned has provided. We think a simple functional tasting of the food can be a bit flat, plus however good the food is, you then big up the expectation on the day and the second time eating the same food can be a bit disappointing. We're forever sampling new recipes and we experience this all the time, first time wow - blows our taste buds. So we look forward to cooking up the same dish again, but we've bigged it up, high expectation of that very first taste, and the second time is a bit disappointing. We're always most critical of our own food, and we've even begun to tire of our awesome hog roasts! Believe it or not. Guests are still loving them. They are as popular as ever but over the years we've lost the excitement for consuming them ourselves. Too much of a good thing.
Now we do periodically attend wedding fayres/open days where we will cook up some food. It may not be what you're having on your wedding day but it allows you to meet us if you wish, and sample our food. Do ask about the next events we're at.
If you do want a tasting, then fair enough, we can accommodate this. If you've not yet booked us, there is a fee for the planning of the tasting menu - this planning is the same planning that we carry out to deliver the menu itself, so if you've booked us there's no charge for this. If you've not yet booked us the fee is £120 which is discountable against your booking of the same menu.
Once we've planned your menu and understand what you wish to taste, we will be able to provide a price for the delivery of the tasting menu. This includes the ingredients needed, kitchen hire, shopping trip(s), and labour.
Having a tasting menu creates no obligation to book.
Our standard disclaimer regarding tasting menus is, catering a tasting menu is very different to onsite catering 100+ covers. The two are not comparable like for like.
